She seems pretty interesting, and 5-6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 in Annenberg G02 is probably about as convenient as it gets for you. Maybe if you’re really feeling up to it, you can actually read her work before the talk. She’s best known for Ghosts in the Schoolyard: Racism and School Closings on Chicago’s South Side, which details how Chicago Public Schools are seen from the inside and outside, and Electric Arches, which is an exploration of growing up and living as a Black female through poetry, visual art and narrative prose.
