Although Miley Cyrus is a woman known for many talents – swinging on a wrecking ball, hosting the best New Year’s Eve parties, appropriating Black culture (we have not forgotten!) and rocking a mullet – her knack for fashion is often overlooked. Cyrus’ love for haute couture, vintage, commercial and emerging designers makes her one of the most stylish celebrities today. The actress, songwriter and singer who is famous for her raspy voice and genre-defying acts turned 30 last Wednesday on Nov. 23. Since she has given so much of her life to our entertainment and pleasure, what better way to honor her than by taking you on a Miley Cyrus fashion journey.

1. Baby, wake up. Cyrus performed at Lollapalooza in a red Gucci playsuit.

Cyrus wowed the audience with her tear-inducing ballads, iconic covers and shimmery boots alike. The red Gucci playsuit sports a fun collar, has a silver zipper down the front that matches the boots and zippers on the side of the sleeves. A 10 out of 10 performance, and definitely a look to remember.

2. Who wouldn’t wear python Versace to their own backyard?

Cyrus wore a python-print Versace gown to her “Backyard Sessions,” a self-produced concert she held in the backyard of her house. Her 2020 performance of “Just Breathe” with The Social Distancers is breathtaking, and Cyrus looked like a vision in this get-up. She paired the gown with a snake bracelet, chunky rings, gold hoops and tall stilettos.

3. You know, just a casual Saturday performing at Saturday Night Live in a faux leather Mugler number.

Cyrus performed “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd in the comfort of her home for Saturday Night Live during the pandemic. To accompany the beautiful vocals, Cyrus wore Mugler. The faux leather off-the-shoulder top, gloves and trousers proved that some of our quarantines were simply more stylish than others.

4. Cyrus steals the spotlight at the Autumn/Winter 2020 Marc Jacobs show.

Marc Jacobs’ high-octane Fall 2020 runway show may have managed to capture the attention of the invited guests and the world at large, but it was Cyrus who stole the spotlight. The singer, who is 5-foot-5, gave all other models a run for their money when she walked the runway in low-rise black trousers, a matching bra top and long leather gloves.

5. Cyrus grabbing dinner in an over 60-year-old Yves Saint Laurent dragon vest.

This look has everything! It striked the perfect balance of wearing fun prints and patterns without it being too overwhelming. Cyrus wore a Yves Saint Laurent vintage dragon print vest, paired with a boxy white t-shirt, black trousers and a ton of layered necklaces to jazz up the plain shirt. I spot a Chanel necklace too!

6. This Met Gala 2013 look by Marc Jacobs lives in my head rent-free.

Cyrus attended the most prestigious fashion event of the year – the Met Gala – for the first time in 2013. The theme for that year’s iteration was “Punk: Chaos to Couture.” Cyrus, 21-years-old at the time, wore a Marc Jacobs gown with netted material. Underneath, Cyrus wore another dress that resembled her skin tone, thus giving the naked dress effect. The spikey hair, silver accessories and her attitude pre-“Bangerz” release are right on theme. No doubt Anna Wintour was stunned!

7. Who could forget the “Slide Away” music video? The wet hair look! The shimmer! The drama!

Yes, end things with your husband and release a searing hit about how he needs to “move on.” Cyrus declares to listeners and her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, that she is not 17 anymore and is not who she used to be. This look is a far cry from her Disney Channel days. Cyrus wore a gold low-cut dress held together by gold chains and Gucci belts. The perfect revenge dress? I think so!

8. Cyrus’ grabbing-a-coffee attire. A definite step up from Evanston’s  Lululemon leggings and Uggs combination.

Cyrus paired straight leg leather trousers with a simple black t-shirt and boxy, oversized blazer. But the magic of this look is in the accessories. The scarf, the sneakers and the layered necklaces make it stand out! Honestly, the mullet is the best accessory.

9. Cyrus rocking Bulgari at the 2019 Oscars.

Cyrus debuted the Bulgari Serpenti collection at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. This look proved, once again, that the accessories make the outfit. The daring statement piece of a necklace that sat on Cyrus’s chest was exposed due to the plunging necklace of her gown. She also accessorized with bracelets, silver rings and dangling earrings. Cyrus proved to all that although her acting days are behind her, she can still bring the Hollywood glamor.

10. A pie could be an accessory, right?

The OG! We fell in love with Cyrus in the pilot of Disney’s hit show “Hannah Montana.” When Cyrus’ character, Miley Stewart, revealed to her best friend Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment) that she leads a double life, she did so in the best get-up the early 2000s has ever seen: a bright pink robe with the letters “HM” sewed on, a matching pink headband and a face full of pie. Happy birthday, Miley!
