Jane Lynch is known for her starring roles on Glee, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. But the Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian recently took on a uniquely different project: a broadcast spot about health data privacy.

A native of Chicago’s South Side, Lynch narrates the risks of data breaches and brings awareness to consumers who may be unintentionally sharing their personal information online, in a thought-provoking spot from Apple. North by Northwestern’s Andrés Buenahora spoke with Lynch about the Health app spot and how her career in Hollywood has informed her perspective on issues of privacy.
