Weinberg student Gabriel Corona is missing, announced Chief of Police Bruce Lewis in an email sent to students earlier today. Corona's roommate reported him missing and said he was last seen around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Corona did not take his cell phone with him when he left his off-campus apartment in Evanston, the police report said. He has not been in contact with family or friends and was wearing a black winter coat when he left. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 240 pounds, according to housemates. Evanston PD is leading the search, Lewis said in the email.
Corona is originally from Marengo, Illinois and is majoring in art theory and practice. Lewis encouraged students not to put themselves at risk in today's extreme temperatures by going out to look for Corona, but encourages students to call the Evanston Police Detective Bureau at 847-866-5040 with any information.
Editor's Note: A previous version of the article incorrectly stated Corona's height and weight as 6 feet and 200 pounds, as was reported by NUPD.
